2022

Millennia Lab established as a key internal initiative within the Engineering Division of Bouygues Real Estate (12,000 housing units / year) by Timothee de TOLDI (M.Sc. Civil Engineering) to advance environmental innovation and resilience.

The lab leads the integration of climate adaptation, mitigation, and energy sobriety strategies into real estate operations.

Primary focus given on transitioning from synthetic products to industrial ecology roadmaps prioritizing the use of natural materials at built-park scales, with a focus on evaluating the externalities of current sectoral roadmaps and market solutions to develop sustainable alternatives.

Cross-departmental collaboration are fostered to align engineering expertise with sustainability objectives and integrate strategic foresight into prototyping and market strategies.

2025

Millennia Lab transitioned into an independent strategic foresight entity, notably expanding its mission to advocate for the inclusion of underrepresented material industries in national construction-industry roadmaps, ensuring their access to ecological transition funds.

Research and consulting teams are assembled on a project-specific basis, in collaboration with academic partners, to meet client needs and bridge the gap between academia and practice.

Ongoing design of strategic frameworks to quantify the externalities associated with current national roadmaps and prevailing market solutions, standardize methodologies for such assessments, and advocate for their integration into existing regulatory frameworks.

The lab’s original mission is built on, driving forward-thinking solutions for ecological and industrial systems.
